As an Academy School the employer of all the staff here are the Governing Body.
The Governing Body are a part appointed and part elected group of volunteers that have education and specifically Flitwick's young people as their priority.
The Governing body consists of 6 trust members (directors of Woodland Middle School Academy) that are the post holders of the following roles: Headteacher, Chair of Governors, Vice Chair of Governors, Chair of the Finance & Premises committee, Chair of the Staffing committee and the Chair of the Teaching & Learning committee. This posts are appointed by election from the full governing body and can be parents or community figures.
The Governing body has a least another 8 further members that are not trust members. These governers are made up of parents, staff and community figures. At any time there will be at least 4 parents and 4 members of staff. The governing body can also include a central government appointed member but this is not currently the case.
You can meet the governors and read their policies by clicking on the links in the right hand menu.
